From our United Nations NGO representative: The mission of the Center's UN program is to bring spiritual values to global issues. The Center's representative, Nancy Roof, Ph.D., has an announcement:

Spirituality and Reality: New Perspectives on Global Issues, vol. 2 no. 2 is now at the printer and will be available in about a week. It presents an introduction of Spiral Dynamics and an Integral worldview to the international community. Spiral Dynamics Integral is a developmental approach to global issues which includes the interior life, culture, social systems and behavior, which helps us to understand the different worldviews and core values that often clash in the global domain. It addresses the deep core values that determine surface behavior and interpretations. Tolerance, justice, peace, etc., mean different things to different people and this helps us understand why. Feature articles include: Integral Principles and Designs to Untie the Global Knot by Don Edward Beck, Integral Approaches that Transform Us and the World by Nancy Bath Roof, What Really Matters? A Youth's Quest for Effecting Global Change by Barrett Chapman Brown, and articles by Don Edward Beck, Petra Pietrese, and Georgie Anne Geyer.

Spirituality & Reality is distributed to all United Nations missions around the world. To order, please your name and address by e-mail and a $5 donation for US ($7.50 overseas) by check or money order made payable to the Center for Psychology & Social Change:

TOUCHED, a new film about the human condition, longing for connection, and alien encounters premiered Feb 20 at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. Two more shows in this city remain: Fri April 11 at 8PM; Wed April 16 at 6PM. Emmy-nominated filmmaker Laurel Chiten & Harvard professor of psychiatry Dr. John Mack (who appears in the film) plan to be present. Visit blinddogfilms.com for more info, or to contact the filmmakers to bring Touched to your city. Network interest is also being sought. A review of the film by a skeptical-minded viewer who attended the premiere is now online at the Blind Dog Films website, and coming next week a review from a more open-minded reviewer will be posted.

On a related note to the above announcement, several classic articles have been added to the PassportToTheCosmos.com website, including, The Outer Limits of the Soul by Mark Gauvreau Judge ("Increasing numbers of UFO abductees say their experiences have as much to do with inner as outer space...").

Nuclear Weapons and the Uncounted Cost of War
The cost of war in human lives has been severely undercounted, according to a European scientific committee headed by an adviser to the British Government. Using evidence from recent discoveries in radiation biology and human epidemiology, the committee has found that radioactive releases up to 1989 have caused, or will eventually cause, the premature deaths of 65 million people worldwide, and concludes that the cancer epidemic is a result of pollution from nuclear energy and of exposures to global atmospheric weapons fallout, which peaked in the period 1959-63. Remarks of Dr. Robert Muller, United Nations
Dr. Robert Muller, former assistant secretary general of the United Nations, now Chancellor emeritus of the University of Peace in Costa Rica was recently in San Francisco to be honored for his service to the world. At age eighty, Dr. Muller surprised, even stunned, many in the audience that day with his most positive assessment of where the world stands now regarding war and peace. Click to read more

The Next 1,000 Years
by Mac Tonnies
"As I write, our planet is steered primarily by soulless multinational corporations and bigoted governments whose ‘future’ is as reassuringly near as next month's NASDAQ or voter opinion polls. Is this how it ends, snuffed out into petrochemical oblivion before we make the critical move off- planet?” A weblog entry by Mac Tonnies, a 27 year old writer from Kansas City, Missouri. His is the author of the speculative-fiction collection of short stories, Illuminated Black. Click to read more
