Glennys MacKay said to have afterlife contact with John Mack

March 2006

Glennys MacKay, a medium from Australia, is said to have received an afterlife communication from Dr John Mack.

In a pair of blog entries on the UnknownCountry.com website, Anne Strieber reports that in a meeting with herself and her husband author Whitley Strieber, Ms MacKay passed on "a message which resonated with us all" (blog entry of March 9, 2006 - click here), about "a connection between the close encounter experience and spirit contact" (blog entry of March 10, 2006 - click here).

Strieber notes that "this is anathema to old line UFO researchers, who want the whole thing to be about the conventional concept of encounters with aliens from another planet."

In the year before his death, Dr. Mack had prepared an initial treatment for a planned book about a notable case of apparent afterlife contact involving the late clinical and research psychiatrist Dr. Elisabeth Targ. With the support of her husband Mark Comings and her father Russell Targ, Dr. Mack had planned to write "a biography which does not end with the biological death of the story’s central figure." Elizabeth Targ, Dr. Mack wrote in his initial treatment, "has continued her work, and brought us important knowledge of the possibility that consciousness, and even to some degree our individuality, survives the death of the body."
